After high school, she worked in a veterinary hospital, where she acquired more knowledge in the field. Since 2002, Joyce has been a valued employee here at the Eglinton-Hwy 10 Clinic. In 2006, she obtained the position of practice manager. Joyce’s home has become a safe haven for animals. Her passion and nurturing towards animals is definitely an asset to this clinic and our clients. Heidi joined the Eglington-Hwy 10 Clinic in 1993 as its resident groomer. Having an interest in medicine, she continued her studies with enthusiasm by training and pursuing a career as a Veterinary Assistant. As a Veterinary Assistant, Heidi’s goal is to continue to further her knowledge in animal medicine. Her compassion and understanding of animals have made her a valuable addition to this staff. Heidi also enjoys reading, music, and dancing. Her favourite thing to do is spend time with her family, especially her husband Billy and her grandchildren.
MELISSA
REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Melissa joined our team as a Veterinary Technician student from Sheridan College in 2018 after completing her Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. She took her licensing exam in 2020 and became a fully Registered Veterinary Technician in September 2020. She has always loved animals and has always strived to do her best to help any animal in need while building customer satisfaction. She has fostered and trained a service dog in the past and hopes to continue to do so in her spare time. Her furry family consists of multiple dogs, cats, and a rabbit. During her spare time, she loves cuddling with her cat, taking her dogs on hikes, going to the dog park, or furthering her knowledge via continuing education credits. She hopes in the future to be more well-known and incorporated with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT).
RAQUEL
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Raquel joined the team a little earlier this year as an animal care attendant. She has been working with animals since around 2015 for her Co-op placement in High School. Raquel graduated from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in 2017. She has a strong love for animals and wants to further her career with them, so she is attending Sheridan for the Veterinary Technician program. Raquel has always loved animals and continues to give them the best care, as well as striving to maintain great customer service. Anna joined our team in September 2016 and has been working in the veterinary business since 2013. She graduated from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in the spring of 2013 to help further her knowledge of animal husbandry and care. She has a passion for pet nutrition and always makes sure to help doctors recommend proper diets to all of our patients. When Anna is not at the clinic, she is at home spending time with her ever-growing furry family.
CARA
VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Although Cara graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier, the pandemic has helped her find her true passion for working with animals. She has always loved animals growing up, especially small dogs, so she raised four yappy little Chihuahuas. Cara is furthering her experience within animal care by working at the Toronto Veterinary Clinic and Eglinton Hwy-10 Veterinary Clinic, and she hopes to further her career by becoming a Registered Veterinarian Technician. When Cara is not working, she loves to experience everything, from going to Pursuit, museums or even karaoke.
PUMPKIN
Pumpkin is our Senior resident pet greeter and cannot be missed with her fluffy white coat. She loves to greet everyone, including children and dogs especially. She fits right in with our Gus, although she likes to be the boss. You will likely find her lying in a box or on top of a food bag in the reception area.
Augustus aka Gus
Augustus (Gus) is our newest resident pet greeter! He loves to greet everyone who comes into our clinic. Gus is a purebred Ragdoll, and is the absolute best cuddler. He is also a huge foodie & always lets us know when it is meal time. You can find him hanging out on the chairs in the reception or sitting on the front desk with Pumpkin.
