After a three-year service at the Hospital for Sick Children, in 1992 he returned to his private practice. Dr. Jassal also worked in a veterinary emergency clinic in Toronto. Dr. Monika Pajek – Veterinarian
Dr. Monika Pajek graduated in 2008 from Warsaw University of Life Sciences. She came to Canada from Poland and joined our growing team in 2009, initially as a technician while working on obtaining Canadian Veterinary Licence. In May 2013 she was granted a restricted license from the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and started training under Dr. Davinder Jassal’s supervision. In January 2015 she moved to a position of full-time veterinarian after fulfilling all the necessary licensure requirements. Dr. Monika’s professional interests focus on internal medicine and nutrition with the aim of involving pet owners into every step of our patient’s life. True bird lover, Dr. Monika enjoys long bird-watching hikes. During her years as a technician, she rescued a couple of abandoned baby birds, eventually releasing them back into the wild.
Joyce – Practice Manager
As far back as she could remember, Joyce has always been interested in pursuing a career in the veterinary field. Her first experience was working in a veterinary clinic during her co-operative placement in high school. After high school she worked in a veterinary hospital where she acquired more knowledge in the field. Since 2002 Joyce has been a valued employee here at the Eglinton-Hwy 10 Clinic. In 2006 she obtained the position of practice manager. Joyce’s home has become a safe haven for animals. Presently she cares for two dogs; Hope and Leo and one rescued cat, Frosty. Her passion and nurturing towards animals is definitely an asset to this clinic and our clients. Joyce’s ambitions for the future are to continue her education and further her career here at the Eglington-Hwy 10 Clinic.
Heidi – Veterinary Assistant
Heidi joined the Eglington-Hwy 10 Clinic in 1993 as its resident groomer. Having an interest in medicine, she continued her studies with enthusiasm by training and pursuing a career as a Veterinary Assistant. As a Veterinary Assistant, Heidi’s goal is to continue to further her knowledge in animal medicine. Her compassion and understanding of animals has made her a valuable addition to this staff. Heidi also enjoys reading, music and dancing. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, especially her husband Billy and her grandchildren.
Kathy – Veterinary Assistant
Kathy joined our team in March 2014. Animals have always been a passion of hers. Kathy has been in the Veterinary field since 2004. It wasn’t long after starting in the field she knew this was what she was meant to do hoping to be a part of making a difference in their lives. She then enrolled in the veterinary assistant course and received her diploma in January 2012. Kathy lives in Georgetown with her husband and their very spoiled, but well behaved Labrador Retriever ‘Spirit’.
Victoria – VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Victoria has been a part of our team since March 2015. She takes pride in providing excellent customer service and always showing compassion for every animal that comes through the door. She has learned and grown tremendously with us throughout the years and is still learning new things every day! On her free time, Victoria enjoys training/riding her draft horse named Mack, and spending time outside hiking with her two dogs; Tucker and Rocky.
Rachel – Veterinary Technician
Rachel has been with us ever since her co-op placement in 2016. She started her career with animals at a pet store in the animal care department and is now currently attending college to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has always loved working with animals and enjoys learning new skills from our staff on a daily basis. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cat Stella and her guinea pig Frankie.
Anna – VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Anna joined our team in September 2016. She has been working in the veterinary business since 2013. She graduated from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in 2013. Like everybody here at the clinic, Anna is a huge animal lover, but she also puts a lot of effort into making our clients happy as she loves to see people smile. When Anna is not at the clinic she is at home spending time with her Husky mix named Hobo, and her 5 Guinea pigs: Luna, Boo, Rey, Cookie, and Hazel.
Leah – VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Leah joined our team in 2016. She has always had a passion for animals, which runs in the family as both her parents have a background in animal care and her young daughter shares the same passion for animals as her mother. Leah had been working in animal care and dog training previously and hopes to gain more knowledge of the field and further her grooming skills. Leah has two dogs named Sweetpea and Tie, a cat name Mowgli and a fish named Spartacus. The entire family (excluding the fish) enjoys spending their free time and playing outdoors.
Tuffy – CLINIC CAT
You will find Tuffy, our resident pet greeter, sitting at our door welcoming every pet and owner that enters the Eglinton-Hwy 10 Clinic. Constantly on the move, his hobbies are jumping and playing with dogs and catching a free ride in any pet carrier. Always loving and affectionate and willing to show you where you can find his treats.
Boo – CLINIC CAT
Boo! That’s his name – also our resident pet greeter. You will always find Boo not far behind his brother, Tuffy when it comes to treats. He likes to keep a lookout over our reception area, always welcoming our clients. Though he is very loving and affectionate, he likes to play and sometimes will show his affection with a love bite. Always feel free to say hi to Boo when you and your furry friends come by.
Pumpkin – Clinic cat
Pumpkin is our newest resident pet greeter and cannot be missed with her fluffy white coat. She loves to greet everyone including children and dogs especially. She fits right in with our other two resident greeters although she likes to be the boss of them. You will most likely find her laying in a box or on top of your bag of food in the reception area.
